Dutch digital advertising spendings have increased tenfold over the last 10 years, overtaking all traditional media types. Impressive to see Digital advertising extend its lead even further in 2016 with another year over year growth of 8,3% – on an already massive total.
The fastest growing subcategories: Online video (+28% YoY), Mobile ads (+51% YoY) (!). I guess 2015 finally WAS the year of mobile: Mobile advertising is now one third of all digital display advertising.
My prediction: 2016 will be the year that video advertising (currently 16% share of digital display advertising) will really break through in spending volume.
